Dismissal, a Negotiated Plea, or a Trial?
I will thoroughly review the charge and the evidence against you. Whenever possible, I will seek to obtain a dismissal of the charge during pre-trial hearings.
Depending on the evidence and your preference, it may make sense to seek a negotiated plea that mitigates the penalties you face. In some cases (particularly those involving low-level retail theft), I may be able to arrange an ARD outcome (Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition). This will eventually dismiss the charge, provided that you comply with the terms of the agreement.
On the other hand, your best option may be to fight the charge at trial. In this situation, I will work to develop a strong and effective defense, based on the law and evidence. Whatever your decision, I will work to find a solution that meets your goals and objectives.
