A variety of criminal charges can be brought against people accused of committing sexual or sexually explicit acts with someone without that person's consent. These include rape, sexual assault, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, indecent assault and aggravated indecent assault. Each of these charges involves specific allegations, and there are specific available defenses for each.
